Professional Development

The KU School of Nursing’s professional development includes continuing education courses, certifications, workshops, and other training solutions.

Continuing education (CE) is vital to the nursing and health care industry. Our faculty can design and implement a course at any level to meet your staff’s training needs, with a variety of delivery options available. CE credits are also available for qualifying courses.

Current courses include:

  • Cardio Vascular Nursing Certification (RN-BC)
    Four-week, asynchronous online course to prep learners for the ANCC Cardio Vascular Nursing (RN-BC) Certification Exam; 11.6 CE credits. Course offered monthly, minimum of five participants needed for course.
  • Drawing Blood: Best Practices and Procedures for Phlebotomy in the Adult Outpatient Setting
    Course is held quarterly. Learn to perform venipuncture in the adult outpatient setting, including how to collect correct materials, and how to distinguish, verbalize and demonstrate proper venipuncture technique. Includes 3-week, asynchronous online course, 1-hour hands-on training with nursing faculty using simulation/laboratory equipment, and 1.5-hour observed performance in TUKHS Outpatient Laboratory.
