Clinical Cultural Diversity Series (CCDS)

Learn about the Clinical Cultural Diversity Series (CCDS), a speaker series that explores intercultural communication in the clinical setting.

CCDS focuses on developing cross-cultural competencies, improving patient care, and providing individuals with comprehensive educational experiences to make KUMC a more diverse and integrated campus.

The goal of this program is to provide insight and to educate about the differences and/or discrepancies in our healthcare system, specifically with underprivileged/underserved groups. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend as well as contribute to the conversation.

Previous speakers have presented on:

  • “Religion and Healthcare”
  • “Comparing Health Care Systems”
  • “Working with an Interpreter”
  • “To Serve or Not to Serve: Who is actually being served?”
  • “Back to the Motherland: Human Heredity and Health in Africa (H3Africa) - A Story of Kidney Disease”

Future event dates and details can be found via the Office of International Programs.
