The Pre-Matriculation Program is a six-week intensive academic program designed to provide entering medical students from underrepresented populations with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the first-year curriculum.

Program Activities

Program content will come from the Molecular and Cellular Medicine block, Infection, Blood and Immunity block, and the Respiration and Circulation block. In addition, students participate in technology orientations and skill development workshops on test-taking strategies, professionalism, study skills, and cultural competency led by KUMC faculty and staff.

Timeline

The Pre-Matriculation Program will run during the months of May and June on the Kansas City Campus. In order to compensate for the potential loss of wages during the program, each participant is eligible to receive a stipend for their participation.

Application Process

Instructions for applying to the Pre-Matriculation Program will be provided via email to those individuals invited to participate in the program.
