The Division provides vital patient services to the Hospital, Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area, and outlying medical facilities through our Laboratory Medicine Services. Faculty are board-accredited, and the Division provides a full spectrum of subspecialized expertise including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Cytogenetics, Flow Cytometry, Hematology, Microbiology, Molecular Microbiology, and Point of Care. The clinical laboratory processes over 2.5 million samples per year. We performed 4.9 million billable tests in fiscal year 2021. Our laboratory is accredited by the AABB, College of American Pathologists (CAP), CMS, CLIA, FDA and Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).
