The Division of Advanced Heart Failure Therapies and Cardiac Transplantation is among the nation's leaders in investigating the latest therapeutic options for heart failure patients with an active research program

We participate in active multi center and investigator-initiated research projects aimed to improve the quality of life and survival of heart failure patients.

Cardiovascular Imaging

All state-of-the-art cardiovascular imaging technologies and methods are available at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, including:

• Echocardiography including transthoracic, transesophageal, 3-D imaging and speckle tracking
• Nuclear cardiology including rest and stress imaging, ventricular function and amyloid analysis
• Cardiac computed tomographic angiography including fractional flow analysis
• Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging
• Cardiac positron emission tomography
• All imaging modalities are areas of research interest for our faculty

Comprehensive Cardiovascular Medicine

Our comprehensive cardiovascular physicians and staff evaluate cardiovascular risk factors and provide cardiovascular disease management.

Our research fuels evidence-based cardiovascular medical care, improving patient outcomes and providing rising leaders in cardiovascular medicine with the skills to provide comprehensive, personalized care.

We're pioneering early identification and treatment options, such as genetic identification of potential inheritable cardiovascular diseases via research efforts, to help those at risk for cardiovascular disease

Heart Rhythm Services

Exciting and innovative research into cardiac arrhythmias is underway in our department.

For years, our electrophysiology section has been a national leader in research into cardiac arrhythmias, with an extensive track record of technological innovations, publications and presentations at national meetings, and providing leadership roles in national electrophysiology societies.

Interventional and Structural Cardiology

We are regional leaders in research and teaching activities for interventional and structural cardiovascular disease.

Interventional and structural cardiology uses specialized imaging and other diagnostic techniques to evaluate blood flow and pressure in the coronary arteries and chambers of the heart, as well as technical procedures and medications to treat abnormalities that impair the function of the cardiovascular.
