Here are some of the recent notable accomplishments from KU School of Medicine alumni:

Julie Christianson, PhD’03, received one of the KU Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Awards, which recognizes faculty who demonstrate excellence in teaching.

Jeffrey M. Burns, MD’98, has been honored with the 2020 Chancellor’s Club Research Award. Dr. Burns is hailed by his peers for putting the University of Kansas Medical Center on the map in Alzheimer’s disease research.

Stephen D. Tarver, MD ’85, Residency ’87, received one of the KU Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Awards, which recognizes faculty who demonstrate excellence in teaching.

Glenn D. Goldstein, MD’81, has been named chief medical officer for U.S. Dermatology Partners, the second-largest physician-owned dermatology practice in the United States. Dr. Goldstein’s appointment underscores USDP’s focus on leveraging experienced physicians to provide the highest level of clinical quality and positions the organization to establish a new precedent for what PE-backed groups can and should look like.

Mark R. Denison, MD’80, is one of three nominees for the 2020 Lorraine Cross Award from Sanford Health, an international recognition.
