Costs and Financial Aid
As a student in our respiratory care dual-degree program, you can take up to three online courses from KU. The courses are each three credit hours.

The amounts listed below are based on the KU Comprehensive Fee Schedule. This is provided as a guide only and is not an official quote of costs. All figures are subject to change by the Kansas Board of Regents and the University of Kansas.

You pay tuition and fees at the beginning of each semester. The Kansas Board of Regents establishes tuition and fees. These may change at any time without notice. Visit the Registrar's Office for complete, current tuition information.
To remain activated in the program, KU recommends you stay enrolled during the fall and spring semesters. If you miss a fall or spring semester, a reactivation process is required to regain student status. This includes a $60 processing fee paid to the Office of the Registrar.
To be eligible for financial aid, you must be enrolled in at least six credit hours per semester. If enrolling in a second block course, you need to be registered before the semester to be considered for financial aid.
Title IV
For the avoidance of doubt and violation of Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 as amended (“Title IV”), during the period of conditional acceptance, Current institution shall be the student’s “home institution” and KU-SHP-RCDS shall be a “host institution” as such terms are defined by Title IV.
For each student wishing to receive Title IV assistance, both institutions agree to execute a consortium agreement and any other documents either institution reasonably deems necessary to effectuate KU-SHP-RCDS’s status as a host institution or maintain compliance with Title IV.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
We encourage students to complete the FAFSA in order to be considered for federal aid. To complete the FAFSA, please visit the FAFSA application site and provide the school code for the University of Kansas: 001948. If enrolling in a second block course, you need to be registered before the semester to be considered for financial aid.
Federal assistance includes the Pell Grant, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), Work Study and Direct Loans (subsidized, unsubsidized, Parent PLUS). Visit the Office of Student Financial Aid to learn more about the federal programs and processes.
Our department awards scholarship funds for qualified students who have completed at least one semester in our online programs. To be eligible, you must complete the FAFSA as noted above. Learn more about scholarship opportunities from KU School of Health Professions.
