The mission of the Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Athletic Training is to achieve excellence and leadership in education, research, and healthcare through a collaborative, innovative, and evidence-based approach while integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion.


Accreditation and Student Outcomes

The KU Doctor of Physical Therapy program is currently accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. Learn more.

The doctoral program in rehabilitation science is periodically reviewed by the Kansas Board of Regents to ensure its quality and viability. Learn more

The University of Kansas is currently seeking accreditation for its new master's degree program in athletic training and is not accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. A self-study to begin the accreditation process will be submitted on July 1, 2022.
