Departments

The School of Health Professions encompasses eight departments that collectively represent the breadth of the health care field. Students prepare for careers in a variety of industries and settings.

First established in 1974 as the School of Allied Health, the school was renamed the School of Health Professions in 2011 to better reflect our academic focus. Today, our school enrolls more than 800 students in eight academic departments.

Our nationally ranked programs, internationally renowned faculty and outstanding students and alumni reflect our commitment to learning. Located at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas, we combine challenging academic study, innovative research, clinical practice and service to our community.

We offer students from throughout the world more than 30  health care fields of study. Continuing education certificate programs, online and on-campus bachelor's degrees, advanced graduate degrees and dual-degree study paths are just some of the options within the School of Health Professions. For those looking to advance their careers, our school offers many certificate and post-professional programs.
