Weekly Webinars
Each Thursday at 2:00 pm CT, we host a free virtual learning opportunity, featuring experts and researchers from the KU Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (KU ADRC) and affiliates.
Presentations focus on understanding risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease, the latest research in preventing Alzheimer’s, and what we know about brain health and aging.
Weekly Webinar with KU ADRC
Thursdays from 2-2:30 pm Central Time
From Physician to Patient - A Story of Alzheimer’s, Advocacy, and Hope | Dr. Brent Beasley
We’re honored to welcome back Dr. Brent Beasley for a powerful return to the Weekly Webinar as he brings new reflections, lived experience, and insight since his last visit in May 2024.
Dr. Beasley offers a rare and deeply personal perspective as both a longtime physician and someone living with younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease. After decades in academic medicine, he found himself navigating a diagnosis from the other side of the exam room.
With honesty, heart, and humor, he shares
-
- What it feels like to recognize cognitive change in yourself
- The reality of diagnosis and navigating care
- His experience with emerging, disease-targeting treatments
- The essential role of advocacy, partnership, and persistence
