Pathways to Healthcare

(formerly Mini Medical School) Provides resources that teachers can use to supplement and enhance the curriculum that has already been established. The ultimate benefit for the students is an exposure to various aspects of the health field while working on fun and exciting projects. This is intended for Kansas high school teachers.

Night at the Lab

An exciting program from KU Medical Center's Area Health Education Center created to provide an opportunity for high school students to explore the connections between health and science and showcase their knowledge to the community.

Parents as Teachers

A community collaboration between the Department of Pediatrics and Kansas City Kansas Public Schools, providing parent education and support to families with children ages 0 to 3. The program is designed to help parents gain knowledge related to their child's development and address general parenting questions and concerns.

PrepKC Connector

The Connector is a unique, web-based tool for teachers that makes it easy to connect with industry professionals. Through the Connector, industry professionals can share their expertise and experience with students and teachers and help integrate academic skills with the soft skills and industry-specific competencies that drive the 21st-century workforce. Through virtual matches, the Industry-Informed Instruction Connector can link students and teachers to the world of work.

Project Eagle

Provides a foundation for school readiness and tools to strengthen family engagement. This is available to Kansas City, Kansas public school teachers and parents.

Step Up

A five-year grant program that provides training and assistance to teachers in order to improve academic outcomes for English learners in Kansas City, Kansas public schools. 

Teacher Summer Externships

Provides an opportunity for health career cluster teachers to obtain continuing education hours in accordance with the Kansas State Department of Education's approval process for implementation or continuation of the Health Science Career Pathway/Cluster curriculum. 

T-SCORE

A grant program for high schoool students that aims to establish a learning community of teachers, students and researchers committed to bringing relevant community-based health issues into the classroom. Includes the Health Science Academy, a partnership of the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City Kansas Public Schools and the The University of Kansas Health System, formed to increase minority representation in the health science fields.
