Student Health Insurance

All on-campus students at the University of Kansas Medical Center are required to have health insurance. Students are welcome to hold their own insurance through their parent, spouse, Affordable Care Act or other source; however, we also offer health insurance to eligible students through United Healthcare Student Resources.

Health Insurance Requirement

All on-campus students must provide proof of health insurance coverage. A Student Health Insurance (SHI) hold will be placed on students' Enroll & Pay accounts, and students will need to report their health insurance information to remove the hold.

This process must be followed even for students who enroll in the United Healthcare student health insurance. Once the information is reported, the hold will be removed within 48 hours. If you encounter any issues, email admissions.

Report Health Insurance Information

To lift your student health insurance hold on your accounts, you must report your student health insurance information.
