Military and Veterans' Events on Campus

In support of our military and veteran students, faculty and staff, we host regular events and meetings and encourage participation on our Military and Veterans Affair Committee.

Military and Veterans' Affairs Committee

The KU Medical Center Military and Veterans Affairs Committee works to develop a military- and veteran-friendly campus and facilitate health research relevant to military members, veterans and their families. The committee includes students, faculty, staff and community partners who share this mission.

KUMC Veterans Celebrations 2022

In honor of Veterans Day, the University of Kansas Medical Center will host a variety of events November 7-11.  Events are open to the entire KU and KUMC community.

Throughout the week of Nov 7-11:

  • Military flags on display on the HEB bridge, the Registrar’s Office will be displaying the flags for the military branches all week on the HEB bridge.
  • Thank a Veteran walk around campus, Stop by the Murphy lobby, the Kirmayer, or the Dykes Library to write a thank you note to a Veteran. All notes will be sent to local KC Veterans. 

Nov 7:

  • Monday Morning Coffee (and hot beverage) Break!, start your day off with some coffee, tea, or hot chocolate on the HEB bridge. Sponsored by Student Life

Nov 9:
